This is exactly what led to the PROTESTANT movement: because the darn papacy couldn't hold back from inventing things in religion and turned Christianity into a mockery.

4. belief in divinity of mary


5. invented the eucharist





Those who follow Catholicism deserve HELL.
Those type of assertations come from ignorance. Some people believe and repeat everything they hear without questioning it and researching it on their own.





Catholics do not worship saints anymore than atheists worship satan.


Catholics have a different set of core beliefs than many other Christians BUT Catholics and Protestants all share one important thing in common, their belief that Jesus Christ is their savior who died on the cross for their sins.








Also calling people jerks doesn't do much to help your case.
Definitely not joking. The whole Protestant movement is based on the idea that Catholic teaching is wrong. They claim that they system of cardinals and bishops and saints and Mary have actually put obstacles in the way to finding God. Also, they claim that historically the church has discouraged people from reading the Bible for themselves.





If you see the movie ';The Other Boleyn Girl'; you will see that England was divided over Catholicism vs. Protestantism.


One of the biggest Biblical arguments that people will make against Catholicism is the verse


1Timothy 2:5 For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus





They see praying to saints and statues and Mary as violating that.
They do that because the Catholics say the Bible is false on its teachings and the Catholic traditions are the correct way to go. Catholics do worship Mary and other people they have made saints years after their death.





According to the Bible, people are saints while they live, not after they die. Each one of Paul's letters in general was written to the saints in a certain area of the country. They were saints at the time the letters were written.





The Bible says to pray through Jesus alone. Catholics believe they can pray through the mere dead mortal, Mary.





Catholics DO worship the clay figures that represent Mary to them or they would not bow down to them. Bowing down as they do constitutes worship.





Since no statue is God or spiritual, anyone that bows down to statues is worshiping the manmade idols. God is not mortal and therefore mortals cannot bow down to statues and be bowing down to spiritual beings. We are warned so many times about things we use in place of the spiritual beings. When we bow to manmade things, we are worshipping them.
Some of the Catholic doctrines have no Scriptural basis, and border on heresy, such as praying to the saints (I know you don't call it worship, but we have ONE Mediator between God and man, which is Christ Jesus) and others. But the truth is, some of the Protestant traditions also have no Scriptural basis. None of us is perfect, which is the whole point of Christ's coming and dying for us. What matters is whether you trust wholly in Christ for your salvation, with the evidence of a desire to live a life pleasing to God giving evidence to your faith.
Catholic doctrine, about the origins of Jesus Christ and divinity of Jesus Christ, is no different than mainstream Protestant Trinitarianism.


It is silly to say that Catholics are not Christians.


I grew up Catholic but in my adultlife I have been a spiritual adventurer. I identify now, in middle age, as a Pentecostalist.
Look in the histories and study harder before you call the ones who say the Catholic doctrines are false to be ';Jerks.'; The truth may boomerang and will make you the one.


Why don't you visit the different Catholic churches in the Philippines, Mexico, Italy, France, England and USA, See if there is not any that is not named after a saint. What do you think of the people who call the Cross where Jesus Christ was hung a ';HOLY CROSS';? Do not most of them even kneel to the cross even without Jesus? Do not the people call Mary, the Mother of Jesus as ';St. Mary'; and aren't people kneeling praying in front of her relics or pictures?


First, Jesus claimed that no One goes to the Father unless he passes through him. Then the church declared to go first to Mary, the Mother before you go to Jesus. And then lately many are encourage to pray novenas to other Saints like Saint Jude, St,Anne. St.Peter etc. so that Mother Mary will be appeased and hasten your call for help from Jesus


Then, the church is also claiming, that St.Joseph, the Carpenter of Nazareth can go directly to God by-passing everyone because he has been loyal and faithful to God and God is indebted to Him for being the foster father of Jesus..


Is it not really dumb that aside from worshiping Jesus and Mary themselves we still have to devote some obligation to their Hearts and call it ';Sacred';.


Did not God of Israel declared that only to Him all knees shall bend?


Why do people walk on their knees to idols that has mouth but cannot speak, who have ears that cannot hear. who have feet but have to be carried so it can be brought around? Why most of the carvers pick some trash of wood leftovers and carved it into statue of a dead and then kneel before his creation?


Are not all that I mentioned part of the doctrines that are never true?
No of course not!








Some people say that Catholics worships saints or worship Mary, but really we only ';worship'; God. We worship the trinity - God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.





But, we also honor and revere the holy saints, including Mary. They are a large part of our religion, but we certainly do not worship them in the full sense of the word.








People who say that are ignorant to the facts. It's just silly to say that. Like saying Oreos must taste like Hydrox - obviously, that person has never tasted Oreos.
everyone has got and is ***entitled*** to their own opinions--just be secure in your own faith and never mind what other people say. and don't judge them either...just worry about you and what's in YOUR heart...that is all that matters.





Don't underestimate the power and value of TOLERANCE.

Regardless of what one says they believe in their heart, if one bows down to an idol (hand made image, statue), the bible condemns that as worship.
well some do worship saints as well as god be i do believe it is false as i believe all religions are i believe in god just dont think anyone on earth right now knows him or knows stories of what he has done to us like noahs arc and adam and eve sorry dont buy that stuff

You're just wanting to argue. Truth is...catholicism was done away with when Jesus died and rose again. The veil was ripped in two...just read it...but NOT in a catholic bible..they've taken it all out...go to the original King James version....The reason the veil was torn in two by God was so that man could now come straight to God when praying and repenting..instead of another man. Do your homework instead of supporting a worthless religion.
Saying that something is false does not make someone a jerk, it simply means they do not agree with it. That said, I'm not sure exactly what your asking in your post, you may want to edit it to make it a little more clear.
Why do some jerks claim that Islam is false? What about Paganism or Buddhism? It sucks when the insults are thrown your way, eh? People have diverse, conflicting beliefs, and some of those people are vocal about it. =/
History and the Bible prove that the vast majority of Catholic doctrines are adaptations from paganism.

I'd like to know why some ';jerks'; think the Catholic doctrine is God's doctrine. Some people only want to follow God's Word and not man's. I don't think that makes them jerks. I think it makes them wise.
