Is it possible to have a false negative?

I had sex around my ovulation time, and i think that i am pregnant (not a bad thing, we have been trying for a few months now)


But AF was supposed to be here on Thursday - its now Monday.


I tested Thursday and it was neg.


But still no AF....


Is it possible to have a false neg?

Yes it is possible to get a false neg..It could be that your HCG isnt high enough to be detected if you still get a neg in the next few days you can always go and get a blood preg test done and that should tell youIs it possible to have a false negative?
yes it is possible that the horomone the test reads is not strong enough in your urine yet. Take a test in the morning after all night of no going pee. Use the dollar store tests, they are extremly accurate and only a dollar!! A false positive is always bullsh*t though. I laugh when girls try to say they are pregnant, then say it was a bad test. The test cant pick up an invisible horomone, either it is there or it isnt. In your case, you may need to wait a week or so. But use the dollar store test...
It's very possible. My AF was supposed to be here Friday. Husband and I have been trying for over a year and I have the opposite symptoms of my AF. Stomach is hard as a rock, tired ALL the time, lower back hurts, the works. Are you having any of the same symptoms as me? Took a HPT on Friday and it came out negative. Took one again today and it's the same story. Have a Dr's appt on Wed and having blood tests done. I hope that you get the positive results that I hope I have. Good Luck!
yes when test say they are 99% correct that means for a positive test they give false negative answers all the time it happened to me twice with one pregnancy finally the third test showed positive so most likely if you get a positive it is right if you keep getting negative then go to the doc. for test from them. theirs will be the most correct.
It's possible -- but very, very uncommon. Pregnancy tests are normally VERY accurate.





My best advice would be to wait another week. If your period still hasn't come, take another pregnancy test. You also might want to call your doctor so he can perform a blood test.

It's totally possible, but you could have ovulated late too. Most tests say try again in five days if your period doesn't arrive.
yeah that's actually really common.. usually it's b/c you just tested too early and didn't have enough hormones yet... testing falsley positive is what's rare.
Make sure you are using an early detection test. It can still be negative, so just give it some time and try again.
It took me 3 days after my missed period to get a positive. Test now!
no that has not happend to me but it can happen you should take another one or go to your doctor
