Was it the shaytan who encouraged people to say false stories and false teachings of the prophet?

If any book contains such stories, and misleads many people to believe that it's true, could that book be said to be a book that contains some teachings of the shaytan?Was it the shaytan who encouraged people to say false stories and false teachings of the prophet?
It can be the people themselves , people who have their own imagination which they try to impose on people .


It is written in the Quran that the Jews used to change some verses , hide some and show some , the shitan name wasn't mentioned to be the culprit . Same for the Christians , when God accused them of changing their sound belief he accused them and never accused the shitan .Was it the shaytan who encouraged people to say false stories and false teachings of the prophet?
