Always out of stock? Is this very common to you? False advertisement to bait you into the store?

How many times you saw something on sale and you wanted to go buy it. But when you got there, it was out of stock most of the times. It was a waste of time and money, especially gas cost so much these days.

Do you get mad, very mad?!! Do you think it's false advertising and it's a violation of FTC rules? Can they be fined? A lot of stores do that lately!Always out of stock? Is this very common to you? False advertisement to bait you into the store?
If they were advertising something they knew they didn't have, or had in very limited quantities (and didn't make that clear) they can be sued. They may be engaging in what's called ';bait and switch';, a form of fraud in which the fraudster lures in customers by advertising a good at an unprofitably low price, then reveals to potential customers that the advertised good is not available but that a substitute good is. The goal of the bait-and-switch is to convince some buyers to purchase the substitute good as a means of avoiding disappointment over not getting the bait, or as a way to recover costs (the ';high price of gas';) expended to try to obtain the bait.

Other advertising practices, such as the use of loss leaders depend on many of the same psychological mechanisms as a bait and switch.

Advertising a sale while intending to stock a limited amount of, and thereby sell out, the loss-leading item advertised is legal in the United States. The purveyor can escape liability if they make clear in their advertisements that quantities of items for which a sale is offered are limited.Always out of stock? Is this very common to you? Maybe you could call your local TV station They love to investigate things like that!
